In the pool

Oh my goodness! I know that I am his mother - but is he not just so cute you want to eat him!

He has a new pool - one at the Rapier grandparents and one at our house so I guess it is technically two pools. But he just loves to play in the water. I took way too many picture of him this afternoon so these are just a few. Visit my Katana website for all 31! (Aaron is going to stroke...) I tried to get a lot of pictures so you can see his facial expressions. We got slathered with sunscreen and spent an hour playing around. We had lots of fun. Jeremiah loves to splash, throw things out of the pool to watch me get them, and of course try to climb out of the pool himself. It is nice to be able to spend some time outside even when the weather is so hot and humid - yes Georgia summer has arrived! Someday when Aaron is home we must get him playing in the water on video. It is just priceless. Guess he is practicing for our visit to the water-logged country of the Netherlands. :-) (Which by the way is now just about 3 weeks away!)

Tough Morning

It has been a tough morning. Jeremiah was very demanding of my attention during a weekly Bible study that I have with other women. He doesn't want to be out of my sight and play with the other children in the nursery and so he usually plays in the room with us. Today he wanted to climb everywhere, didn't want to sit still, was "talking" loudly, and was not content playing with any toy that I gave him. I know that all of this is just a stage and it will get better but after this morning I was just so tired and frustrated. I really need to continue with the Bible study. I need the interaction with other women and the spiritual encouragement. But on mornings like this I wonder if it was really worth it.

I love my son so much and he gives me so much joy. But sometimes I wonder if I am really a good parent...

Anyway, he is learning something new every day! We have added cow, snake, and chicken to the list of animal noises he can make. It is so amazing to watch him soak up information. I read somewhere that the 15th month is considered by experts to be one of the key months when children really explode into learning and copying adult behavior. It's a fun ride!

Memorial Day Picnic

We have had an exciting afternoon! At the church's Memorial Day Picnic (really just an excuse for our Texas born pastor to grill up a big hunk of cow) Jeremiah expereinced a lot of "firsts." His first taste of watermelon (notice the juice running down his tummy), his first bite of chocolate chip cookie, watched his papa play volleyball, was a shield in a water balloon fight (which by the way was not an effective strategy).

Anyway. It was a great day. We are now worn out, sticky, wet, and sweaty.

Climbing

Jeremiah is becoming more adventurous. He likes to climb pretty much anything that is in his way. Here he is climbing our furniture.

Changes

You are not going crazy...
Well, maybe you are, who am I say? But the appearance of this blog has changed. Something was wrong with my other template and I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I had to get a new one. Which of course erased all my previous entry's. Oh well. We are still here.
Will post more later. right now I have to clean the bathroom while Jeremiah is napping.

Snack Time

So we were playing during snack time this afternoon. Thought you would enjoy seeing the fun we have! Goldfish are a favorite snack.

By the way, I know it is getting time for a haircut but I just can't bring myself to do it.....
