Warning! Mother bragging

Jeremiah is a reading and writing machine these days. I haven't started any formal "school time" yet (my lack of discipline I am sure) but there is probably at least an hour a day where he sits down and uses some method to practice his writing skills. One of his new favorite things is to copy words from his favorite books.
As far a writing goes he really has it down, but right now we are working on staying on a straight line and are using some work books to learn to write the letters the "right" way (you know, trace them following the arrows in the right direction). So it is really just the fine motor skills stuff.
As far as reading goes Jeremiah just continues to amaze me. I don't really work with him in any specific way, we just read a lot and he naturally seems to love books, words, and the sounds of words. Yesterday we got a new book in the mail. Jeremiah held it, looked at it, and promptly read the title with no help from me, "Little Monkey Lost"! Aaron and I just stared at each other.
It really is amazing to watch Jeremiah's mind grow and learn.
